PLANKBURST for iPhone and iPad · Updated 28 October 2026 (ads optional and permission-based in version 1.0, build 20)
PLANKBURST is an endless wooden-dock runner for iPhone and iPad (portrait). It needs iOS 15 or later, plays fully offline, and has no accounts.
Playing
- HOW TO PLAY in the game's Settings explains the controls and every prop on the dock.
- Your best distance, settings and the runner look you chose are saved on this device only. Deleting the game deletes them; there is no cloud copy.
- Switching apps, locking the phone or taking a call pauses a run. Tap RESUME RUN to continue; the game never resumes on its own.
Shop and purchases
- The Original Runner is always free. Twelve other runner looks are one-time purchases (US $1.99 each; the Shop shows Apple's price in your currency). They change the look only: same moves, same course.
- Remove Ads is a one-time purchase (US $4.99) that removes the interstitial ads for good on every device signed in with your Apple Account (use Restore Purchases on a new device). Runner looks are sold separately.
- Purchases go through Apple with your Apple Account. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Missing a purchase (new device, reinstall, or a purchase that completed later, such as Ask to Buy)? Open Settings > Purchases and tap RESTORE PURCHASES while signed in with the Apple Account that bought it. Restoring never charges you again and does not restore local scores or settings.
Ads
PLANKBURST shows short full-screen interstitial ads through Unity LevelPlay (ironSource Ads and Unity Ads networks): only after at least three runs have ended, and only when the Run Over screen appears after such a run; after it closes you are back on Run Over, and Run Again and Menu never start an ad - never during a run, while paused or on the menu. After an ad, the count starts again. If no ad is available, the game simply continues. Ads are optional: on the first launch the game asks your age band and, for 18 or older, whether to allow ads; if you allow them, iOS asks about tracking. Without those permissions the ad software is not started. You can change the choices any time in Settings > PRIVACY & ADS; the privacy policy describes what the ad networks receive. Remove Ads (US $4.99, one-time) keeps ads off on every device that restores it; saying no to ads in Settings is free. Before the App Store release, test builds may show the ad provider's test advertisements or none at all.
Troubleshooting
- No sound: check SOUND and SFX VOLUME in Settings, the ring/silent switch and the device volume.
- Game too demanding or warm: turn on REDUCE EFFECTS and BATTERY SAVER in Settings (Battery Saver draws at 30 fps; the game itself runs the same).
- A purchase shows as not owned: use RESTORE PURCHASES (above). If it still fails, email us with the item name and the date of purchase.
